This is without a doubt one of the most eye opening and heartbreaking statistics I have ever come across. It is sickening how materialistic and selfish society is becoming on a global scale. We need to stop looking at international aid in isolated numbers, but rather in comparison to the amount of capital wasted on expenditures that have nothing to do with increasing the standard of living for those who continue to exist in appalling conditions.
